Michèle LavigueurLife beyond the shift

A new chapter, thoughtfully built

More room for the life that matters.

After twenty years of caring for others as a respiratory therapist, I’m building practical tools, cozy ideas and creative projects for a life with more time in it.

Work is part of life. It doesn’t have to be all of it.

I’m interested in the useful, comforting things that make an ordinary day feel better — a schedule that finally makes sense, a recipe worth keeping, a cozy room, a game you want to live inside.

The good stuff

Four paths, one purpose.

Everything here is about making daily life a little easier, warmer or more fun.

First project

Shift Life

A kinder schedule for people whose workdays don’t fit neatly into Monday to Friday.

The first thing I want to make

A shift calendar that understands real life.

I worked an unusual rotation for years: long days, long nights and recovery days that never looked like a normal calendar. This app will be designed by someone who actually lived it.

  • Build repeating day and night rotations quickly
  • See work, recovery time and real days off clearly
  • Share a calendar your family can understand
  • Keep the experience simple after a twelve-hour shift

Now: shaping the first useful version

Recipes with a story are the ones we keep.

Homemade brown sugar and maple pumpkin pie is already in the recipe box. This will grow into a small, beautiful collection of the food I truly make.

A world we want to play in

A cozy island that changes with you.

My brother and I have spent a lot of time playing games. Now we’re imagining our own: real co-op, rich seasons, useful kitchens, furniture you can actually use, pets, storms, farmers markets and plenty of reasons to come back.

Hello, I’m Michèle

I’m building toward more freedom, one useful idea at a time.

I’m a respiratory therapist in Ottawa. After two decades in healthcare — including many years of rotating days and nights — I know how precious time is. I want this space to be honest, practical and hopeful: a place to build things that help, share what is worth sharing and make more room for the people, animals and moments we love.

Early days

Come back and watch it grow.

The bones are here. Next come the first Shift Life tool, recipe stories and peeks at our game.
